Transport

Transport accounts for a large proportion of the Bethell Group’s CO2 emissions.

In 2008, we spent £2,154,351 on fuel. There were approximately 750 people working directly for the Bethell Group in 2008.

This resulted in each employee producing an average of 578kg of CO2 for the year just from transport emissions. 

Our long term target is to achieve a 30% reduction in our CO2 emissions by 2020, which will exceed the UK Government target of 26%.

Initiatives to achieve these targets will include:

• Use of more carbon friendly vehicles
• Tracker systems in vehicles to monitor usage and cut out unnecessary journeys
• More efficient planning of journeys
• Car sharing scheme
