Tim is the Group Chief Executive and is responsible for the overall strategic leadership and management of the Group’s operations. He is a time served civil engineer and following considerable experience in the industry acquired the Bethell company through a management buy-in during the early 1990’s.

Group Finance Director, Bethell Group

Neil is responsible for managing the finance, IT and shared services departments for the Group. He is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England & Wales and trained with KPMG.


Vinny ODowd
Vinny O’Dowd
Managing Director, Bethell Construction

Vinny began his professional career over 30 years ago as a Site Engineer for a major construction company. He progressed from Engineering into Site Management and was responsible for the successful project management of commercial, industrial and civil engineering projects throughout the UK.
Joined Bethell in 1992 as a Contracts Manager progressing to Operations Director in 2006. He was appointed Managing Director in 2010 and has overall responsibility for the Company’s performance and day to day management in developing and delivering the Company’s strategies in the most effective and efficient manner.


Gerry McCoy

Operations Director, Bethell Construction

Gerry is responsible for the successful delivery of various construction projects in wastewater, highways, reinforced concrete works, retail developments, term maintenance contracts in wastewater and highways etc to within the client’s programme and budget requirements, meeting all quality requirements and ensuring all works are completed in a safe manner.

Twenty years experience in the construction industry, commencing as a site engineer through various site management roles to current position. 


Ian Madden

Ian is responsible for leading the way in the development of HSQE as an essential contributor to achieving Bethell’s mission of driving change and improving health and safety standards. In addition Ian will be driving the behavioural change programme within the company to further develop its HSQE culture.

Ian will also be the mainstay for the strategic leadership and direction of all HSQE management/compliance issues.


Chris Cayton

Operations Director, Bethell Construction

Chris began his professional career over 18 years ago as a Site Engineer for a Major Civil Engineering contractor. He progressed into Site Management which meant he was responsible for the delivery of civil engineering projects.

Chris joined Bethell Construction as Project Manager in 2003, progressing to Operations Director in 2010. 


Chris Morley

Finance Director, Bethell Construction

Chris is responsible for the overall financial management of Bethell Construction and its shared service functions. He has ten years experience in the Constuction industry commencing in 2001 as management accountant, before taking on the role of Group Financial Controller in 2004. Chris was heavily involved with the management team that facilitated the sale of one of the group utility entities in 2009.
Following the consolidation of the group, Chris progressed to the position of Finance Director in May 2010. 


Pat Donnellan

Commercial Director, Bethell Construction

Post graduation Pat spent 3 years working as a junior surveyor in Ireland. He joined Bethell in 1998 as a Quantity Surveyor and progressed to Commercial Manager over the next ten years.
Pat has over 15 years experience in the construction industry working on the successful delivery of many varied construction projects, including highways, rail, building, commercial, retail and civil engineering schemes.  He was appointed Commercial Director in 2010
