Aldi, Bamber Bridge

Bethell were awarded the groundworks package for the new Aldi at Bamber Bridge, Preston. The contract had a duration of 18 weeks and was successfully completed to a tight non negotiable programme to a high standard of quality.

Bethell initially installed all the foundations to the new building and the under floor drainage and ducting to the building’s footprint. The concrete floor slabs to the Shop and Warehouse could then be cast with the Warehouse slab being of a power floated finish.

Once the Slab was complete it allowed the precast walls to be erected in 5 days to complete the buildings external walls. Bethell completed a perimeter 2m concrete strip to tie the precast walls of the building into the floor slab.

Works quickly progressed to the carpark where all the remaining drainage, ducting and kerbing works were completed. The drainage included a petrol Interceptor and an Attenuation tank.

Final paving, fencing and surfacing works completed the new Aldi to a very high Standard.
