Stalybridge Station

A striking modern extension which compliments the original Victorian building.

Site logistical problems involved a very tight working area, temporary works to support the existing building, working next to live rail infrastrucure and temporary re-location of ticketing facilities whilst the works were undertaken.

The quadrant-shaped corner site ensured that there were no standard modules and all elements were bespokely made to suit the layout includingthe two-storey glazed façade.

Many structural alterations were undertaken internally to ensure the new building belended seamlessly with the existing.
