Tim Kilroe, owner of the Bethell Group of construction, rail and power businesses (“Bethell”), has today announced the sale of Bethell Power Services Limited (“BPSL”) business on 23rd July 2009 to Enterprise, the infrastructure maintenance support services company.
BPSL was purchased by Bethell in 1998 and during the last 10 years has been developed into a leading provider of specialist services to the UK District Network Operators operating in areas of maintenance and renewal activity, employing around 450 people. The sale is a tremendous opportunity for BPSL and its staff to grow and develop further in the UK power market while under the wings of a larger organisation.
The sale will also allow the Bethell Group to concentrate on its Construction and Rail businesses which together generate annual revenues around £40m. The rail market in particular provides exciting opportunities for long term growth where Bethell has established national expertise in a number of areas including infrastructure electrification & plant maintenance. The Bethell construction activities are also extensive, particularly in the north west of England, with building and civil engineering expertise.
