Durham Railway Station Long Stay Car Park

The project formed an overspill facility to the adjacent cark park.

Bethell undertook the following activities -

• Topographic, SubSoil and Utilities Surveys
• Design, Local Authority Planning Approval, Form A and Form B Approval from Network Rail.
• All construction including drainage, kerbing, footpaths, tarmac surfacing, road marking, CCTV installation, street lighting, automatic barriers, landscaping and fencing works.

Construction works were completed in ten weeks whilst maintaining 90% capacity to the existing adjacent car park.

Additional works included approach road re-alignment, strengthening of existing retaining walls, concrete staircases, Armco barriers and information signage.

The scheme was completed to ensure it received the ‘PARK MARK’ accreditation for safe and secure car park design.
